Auxillias engages Paul Godsmark to head-up its advisory services offering

Auxillias, the specialist legal and compliance firm serving the consumer, motor and asset finance sectors, has announced the recent appointment of Paul Godsmark as a consultant partner and head of advisory services. This strategic move underscores Auxillias’ commitment to recognising talent and providing exceptional and holistic advice to its clients.

Paul has been consulting with Auxillias for over two years and has proven to be a highly valued member of the team. His deep understanding of the regulatory landscape and his dedication to client success have significantly contributed to Auxillias’ growth and reputation, while clients value his attention to detail, commercial pragmatism and solution-focused approach.

Jo Davis, CEO of Auxillias, said:We are delighted with this appointment. Paul’s extensive background and expertise make him the ideal candidate to lead our advisory offering. Paul’s contributions over the past two years have been invaluable, and we are excited about the leadership and insight he will bring to this new role.”

While Paul is a qualified solicitor, he also has rare and valuable hands-on experience of managing both operational risk and compliance matters in regulated firms and holds the Institute of Operational Risk certificate in operational risk management. Paul brings years of experience - including a decade as a qualified solicitor -  working with firms in the regulated sector.  He has worked in both private practice at Walker Morris LLP and in-house at Computershare Loan Services, and later Novuna. Paul advises clients on a diverse range of matters, including a full spectrum of issues connected with regulated and unregulated lending, wider regulatory compliance matters (such as FCA applications, notifications and engagement), large regulatory changes (like GDPR, SM&CR and Consumer Duty), outsourcing and commercial contracts (including for technology) and governance arrangements. He also helps develop new products.

Paul Godsmark commented:I am thrilled to take up the opportunity to support Auxillias in further developing its advisory offering. It has been a rewarding experience consulting with the team and working with some really wonderful clients over the past two years, and I look forward to helping shape further innovation in how Auxillias works and provides advice, to support clients in navigating the complexities of the regulatory environment.”
