Auxillias strengthens remediation and redress services with appointment of Gillian Crotty

Senior regulatory lawyer joins as head of remediation and dispute resolution services as demand grows across motor and consumer finance

Auxillias has announced the appointment of Gillian Crotty as head of remediation and dispute resolution services, further strengthening its capability in complaints handling, remediation and redress as firms prepare for the FCA’s motor finance redress scheme. 

Gillian brings almost twenty years of experience as a financial services, dispute resolution and regulatory lawyer. She has spent much of her career as a partner in major UK law firms and has also held senior oversight roles including money laundering reporting officer and senior risk committee member. 

Gillian’s work includes consumer credit, asset and motor finance, leasing and retail banking with a strong focus on dispute resolution, compliance and operational risk. Alongside her regulatory advisory expertise, Gillian has acted on behalf of her clients in relation to a wide range of financial services dispute resolution and litigation matters to include cross-jurisdiction actions, secured asset and property litigation, professional negligence claims, insolvency litigation and high value claims against lenders. 

The appointment comes as lenders, brokers and dealer groups seek practical support on large-scale complaint reviews, conduct risk projects and remediation planning. Auxillias has seen a significant increase in enquiries linked to commission complaints and redress readiness, particularly from firms needing senior legal and operational leadership. 

Most recently, Gillian acted as legal and regulatory project lead and subject-matter expert for a major international asset and motor finance lender, with responsibility for the planning and delivery of its motor finance redress programme. Her role included governance reporting, data and calculation design, quality controls, regulatory reporting and operational readiness.

Gillian will lead Auxillias’ remediation services across CMC complaints, motor finance redress, governance uplift and dispute resolution projects, working closely with legal, compliance and operational teams across the firm.
