Auxillias appoints David Blake as head of compliance advisory

Appointment supports growing demand for expert compliance guidance across financial services

Auxillias today announced the appointment of David Blake as head of compliance advisory, strengthening its senior team as demand grows for practical regulatory support across the motor, asset and consumer finance markets.

David is a well-known governance, risk and compliance specialist with deep experience across regulated financial services. He has spent his career designing and leading compliance, risk and assurance frameworks, advising board executives on governance effectiveness and conduct and driving major programmes across Consumer Duty, culture, systems and controls.

He has worked closely with firms under regulatory scrutiny, supporting remediation, supervisory engagement and enforcement matters with a focus on clear, sustainable improvement. A Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management, David brings both strategic thinking and hands-on delivery and has twice been recognised with the Global Advisory Experts GRC Consultancy Award.

Jo Davis, CEO and co-founder of Auxillias, said: “David is a rare mix of strategic, practical and calm under pressure. He knows how to steady a function, guide senior teams and turn complex regulatory expectations into action. His experience across motor finance, consumer credit and governance makes him a natural fit for our clients and for the direction Auxillias is heading. We’re delighted to have him with us.”

Speaking about his appointment, David Blake said: “I’ve long admired the way Auxillias blends technical expertise with real-world thinking. The firm has built a strong reputation for support that is clear, grounded and genuinely useful to clients. I’m pleased to be joining at a time when so many firms are looking for steady guidance through regulatory change. I’m looking forward to working with the team and our clients.”

David will lead Auxillias’ compliance advisory work, supporting firms with BAU compliance oversight, governance and board advisory, supervisory engagement and the wider regulatory challenges shaping the year ahead.
