Auxillias first Helping Hands session well received by industry

Auxillias today announced that its first Helping Hands forum was well received by attendees, with everyone saying that it was very useful to discuss pressing topics with their peers.

Last month’s session, which focused on how firms are preparing for and implementing Consumer Duty, brought together almost 50 in-house compliance and legal professionals, to debate key issues around this topic.

Guest speaker Paul Patterson from Chetwood Financial Services talked about how his business has approached Consumer Duty – from understanding the regulations, engaging stakeholders, defining change requirements and planning implementation.

Participants were also divided into three break out sessions to discuss the challenges faced by the four outcomes – products and services, price and value, customer support and customer understanding / customer communications.

Feedback included:

“It was very useful to meet with industry professionals and hear their views.”

“I really enjoyed the smaller breakout/roundtable type sessions – and would love to have questions set ahead of time and look to discuss as a group.”

“It was incredibly helpful to discuss Consumer Duty with peers, and reassuring that they are having similar challenges.”

Jo Davis, CEO, Auxillias said: “We’re delighted that our first session was so well-received.  It goes to show that a forum – designed to provide insightful updates on pressing topics - is obviously needed by professionals in the consumer finance industry.  We’re glad to fill that gap.  It was a really useful two hours and interesting to hear what was on individuals’ minds.  We’re looking forward to our next session which will take place in the new year – and also our in-person event later in 2023.”

The second Helping Hands session will take place on Thursday 26 January 2023 at 9.30am.  It will build on topics discussed at the November forum and focus on implementation requirements on vulnerable customers and the changes to the SM&CR regime as a result of Consumer Duty.  It will also look at the manufacturer v distributor responsibilities, with more emphasis on what the distributors' (in the main brokers/retailers) responsibilities are when it comes to implementing the requirements under the Duty.

Register here if you want to want to be part of our session in January.  Open to lenders, brokers and others in the asset and automotive finance supply chain, Helping hands brings the industry together to discuss everything legal, compliance and regulatory.

Helping Hands is Auxillias’ new platform, designed to help firms achieve legal and compliance excellence. Designed specifically to in-house professionals working in house operations, compliance and legal professionals working for finance institutions, credit brokers or retail networks offering credit products that are FCA regulated, Helping Hands is a place to discuss topical legal, regulatory and compliance matters and network with others who share those interests.  Participants can expect to hear insightful updates from the Auxillias team and invited expert guests, as well work in peer groups to develop understanding..
